This project originated from the BPA (Bisphenol A) controversy in plastic water bottles. OPM wanted a water bottle that would minimize use of any plastics in their new design. This design uses a stainless steel bottle that does not leech any compounds or otherwise affect water quality. The food safe, silicone cap uses a simple ribbed plug to seal the bottle. Straps extending down from the cap keep the cap compressed to the bottle when not in use and prevent the user from misplacing the cap when being used.
